Singapore’s First Enriched Fragrant Rice
1. What Is the Product?
1.1 What is SōngHè Plus?
SōngHè Plus is a mix of our well-loved Thai Hom Mali fragrant rice and special enriched rice grains. These rice grains contain:
– Dietary fibre: Good for digestion
– Zinc: supports your immune system
– Iron: helps fight tiredness
– Folate: supports cell growth and repair
1.2 Are the enriched grains actual rice grains?
No. The enriched rice grains are not actual rice grains. They are made from fibre and added nutrients, and are shaped to resemble rice so they can be blended evenly with the fragrant rice.
1.3 Is it a fortified rice?
Yes. In every pack of SōngHè Plus, there are specially formulated enriched rice grains, naturally containing added nutrients, blended together with our original SōngHè fragrant rice.
1.4 What is the percentage of enriched rice grains to original SōngHè fragrant rice in each pack?
The exact percentage is part of our proprietary blend, specially developed to deliver enough nutrients for daily consumption while keeping the same taste and texture as regular fragrant rice.
1.5 Where do the nutrients come from?
The nutrients are inside the pale-white enriched rice grains, not coated or injected into the original fragrant rice.
1.6 Why was SōngHè Plus enriched with fibre, iron, zinc and folate instead of other nutrients such as Vitamins A or D?
These four nutrients were carefully selected to support SōngHè Plus’s positioning as an everyday immunity-supporting rice.
Zinc, iron and folate all play recognised roles in supporting normal immune function, while fibre supports digestive health and overall wellbeing.
Although Vitamins A and D also contribute to immune function, they are fat-soluble vitamins and are generally more challenging to incorporate into a dry staple food like rice due to formulation and stability considerations. In contrast, zinc, iron and folate are commonly used in rice fortification programmes worldwide, making them a practical and effective choice for everyday consumption.

3. Comparison to Existing Rice
3.1 How is it different from brown, red, and fragrant rice?

Key points to share:
* More fibre and iron: About 2–3 times more than brown or red rice.
* Extra zinc and folate: We are the only rice in Singapore that contains zinc and folate.
* Soft and fluffy: Unlike brown rice, which is chewy, has a nutty taste, and can sometimes be harder to digest, SōngHè Plus stays soft and tastes like white fragrant rice.
* Low in carbs: It contains lower carbohydrates and calories than regular rice.
3.2 How do I know which grains are enriched rice grains?
They look almost the same as normal fragrant rice, but enriched rice grains are more pale white in colour and shaped like rice grains that contain the extra nutrients inside.

4. Cooking & Storage
4.1 Do I need to cook it differently?
No. Rinse and cook just like normal white rice. We recommend to rinse 1-3 times, and cook with 1:0.7.5-1 cups of rice to water ratio.
4.2 Will washing or soaking remove the nutrients?
No. The nutrients are bonded inside the enriched rice grains, so you can wash and soak as usual without losing them.
4.3 How should I store it?
SōngHè Plus can be stored in the same way as regular rice. After opening, we recommend keeping it in the refrigerator where possible. Alternatively, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from heat and moisture.
